WHAT TYPE OF PRINT SHOULD I CHOOSE?
Our choice to sell not only original art but also offer several print options means that our clients can own art that fits any budget. Sometimes the main entry, living room, or office demands an original, but bedrooms, bathrooms, and other less trafficked areas can have an elevated look with a framed canvas or paper print. Our site has found the best printing options for the style of art we sell, so you can count on your print looking great no matter what you choose. Below are the five types of prints we offer:
CANVAS GALLERY WRAPS
For a print that looks most like an original, canvas gallery wraps, sometimes called a giclee, is a Premium Fine Art Print printed directly onto canvas material using high-quality archival inks. The canvas texture gives your print a tactile look and in many cases, you will have a hard time determining a canvas print from an original, unless you inspect it closely. For a fraction of the cost of an original, you can own a quality art reproduction with the added convenience of being able to choose from several sizes so that your piece fits perfectly in your space. Many people also like gallery wraps as they don’t require a frame, however, a frame will always elevate and add an element of sophistication that we prefer. The canvas is wrapped around an artist's stretcher frame and the sides are printed with either the image (mirrored so that you don’t lose any image) or black so that there is no unfinished canvas visible on the side. Once you have chosen your size, choose between an image edge or a black edge. We recommend mirrored (2.5” looks best) if you do not plan to frame the canvas and black if it will be framed. Next, choose your canvas thickness if unframed (if you are framing locally a 1.5’ thick canvas is perfect), or choose the framing option. We have preselected frames that look best with the style of art so you can comfortably choose a frame that looks best in your space. The back of the canvas will come with the required hanging hardware.
FINE ART PAPER
Over the ages, Fine Art Papers have been developed from cotton, rag, and fiber. Common uses for artists were painting, printmaking, drawing, and now fine art photography. Texture plays an important sensory as well as aesthetic factor in choosing a classic Fine Art Paper. For painting reproductions like we offer, textured paper is a must. Hahnemuhle is the manufacturer of our most heavily textured paper selection, with Bamboo, Torchon, and William Turner. If choosing this paper, then decide on a borderless, bordered, matted, or framed option. Paper prints have several frame options that make an easy, one-stop shop at very affordable prices. No more buying print only to have it sit for months before you get around to taking it to your local framer. Your print will come ready to hang with all the necessary hardware.
METAL PRINTS
Made by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets, MetalPrints™ are applauded by photographers and artists everywhere for their magical luminescence. You've never seen a more brilliant and impressive print! The colors are vibrant and the radiance is breathtaking. Their waterproof, scratch-resistant surface makes Metal Prints our most hygienic and durable medium -- also available on Performance EXT metal to give your Metal Prints an extended life in the elements!
WOOD PRINTS
Maple Wood Prints are printed directly onto 1/2" thick maple surfaced wood board, for a warm and natural-looking print that is also eco-friendly. Natural Finish - The grain and other natural characteristics of the wood shows through the light and white areas of the image for a natural warm tone and vintage feel. White Finish - A white ink underlay is printed under the image area to make the true colors of your image pop, while still allowing the beautiful wood texture to show on the print surface.
CANVAS PRINTS
Loose Canvas: We use the highest quality 12-color archival inks to print on museum-quality canvas material for beautiful, rich color and texture. 2 inches of blank canvas is added to each side of the print. Delivered unmounted and rolled. Canvas Board: Prints are made with a Fine Art Print printed directly onto canvas material. The print is then mounted on Gator Foamboard, which is a very rigid foamboard and has lightweight backing. It is durable and will not warp.
ACRYLIC PRINTS
